Ownership Game: Quick Start Guide for Teachers and Trainers

Welcome to the Ownership Game!

This board game plugin is designed to teach critical life values like responsibility, collaboration, trust, and accountability in a fun, interactive way.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file.
  2. Login to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  4. Upload the ZIP file and click Install Now.
  5. Activate the plugin.

Adding the Game to Your Website

  1. Create or edit any post or page.
  2. Add the shortcode:
[ownership_game]
  1. Save and publish your page.

The game will appear as a 5×5 board. Each tile reveals a value lesson when clicked.

How to Play

  • Click on any tile to reveal a value-based lesson.
  • Players must “collect” at least 5 unique lessons to win.
  • Lessons teach values like teamwork, empathy, responsibility, and leadership.

Recommended Classroom/Training Use

  • Single Player Mode: Let individuals click tiles and discuss each value aloud.
  • Group Mode: Split into small groups. Each group takes turns clicking tiles and discussing the revealed lesson.
  • Challenge Mode:
    • First group to collect 5 unique lessons wins.
    • Bonus points for the best real-life example shared related to each value.

Discussion Prompts

After a tile is clicked, ask participants:

  • “Can you share a time you demonstrated this value?”
  • “Why is this value important in a team?”
  • “How can we improve in practicing this value every day?”

Winning the Game

When a player or group collects 5 lessons, they “win” by demonstrating they have mastered key Ownership Values.
