Life has a way of testing our limits, challenging us in ways we never expect. For Shimmer, resilience has been the cornerstone of her journey. From growing up in a large, complex family in Salt Lake City to overcoming personal hardships, Shimmer’s life is a testament to the power of strength, determination, and an unwavering commitment to those she loves.
Shimmer’s early years were marked by quiet tension in a home filled with noise. Raised in a bustling household of eight, the secrets left unspoken by her family shaped much of her view of the world. Though she didn’t face the harshest of challenges, there was always an undercurrent of unease—a feeling that, like many of us, Shimmer would carry with her as she grew older.
By 16, Shimmer had already taken on more responsibility than most young adults. Between working at Albertsons, running court documents for local attorneys, and juggling a restaurant job, she learned early on the meaning of hard work and sacrifice. But life threw her a curveball in 1994—an accident that would change everything. The crash left her with a permanent scar on her forehead, serving as a constant reminder of life’s fragility. Yet, the scar became something more: it was a catalyst for change.
Determined to reframe her life, Shimmer decided to leave behind the court document job and moved to Arizona, hoping for a fresh start. There, she gave birth to her son, Tyler, in 1996—a new chapter of joy, responsibility, and challenges. However, Hector, the Father of her First Child of God like she, would soon become a source of emotional and physical abuse. In 1998, Shimmer made the difficult decision to leave him behind, but not without filing a report with the Phoenix Police Department and choosing to build a better life for her son.
Her story could have stopped there. But Shimmer’s strength lies in her refusal to remain stagnant. She met Corey in 1998, and by 2001, their bond had evolved into a loving relationship grounded in mutual respect. With Corey by her side, Shimmer navigated the painful loss of her father in 2005, finding healing and stability in his unwavering support.
The couple’s journey continued to blossom as they welcomed two more children—Kyle in 2008 and Jay in 2012. They also took a bold step in 2017, purchasing 2.5 acres of land in Cave Creek, Arizona. What should have been a peaceful retreat, however, quickly became fraught with conflict. Trespassing neighbors began damaging the land, testing Shimmer’s resolve. But this time, she wasn’t going to back down.
Shimmer’s persistent efforts to address the issue were met with silence from church authorities, pushing her to a breaking point. In a raw moment of frustration, she called out the Bishop who had ignored her concerns. But this wasn’t the end—it was a turning point. Shimmer took matters into her own hands, ensuring that her voice could not be silenced. Her refusal to be dismissed, even by those in power, sent a powerful message: no one can ignore Shimmer.
Shimmer’s efforts didn’t stop with her own battles. She has also worked to include others in the fight for justice and fairness, as reflected in her advocacy efforts. Recently, her actions have caught the attention of the public calendar system, where key players are reminded daily about ongoing issues, as seen through platforms like SnapshotCharms.com and theUnitedStatesofAmerica.site. Shimmer, alongside other Leaders, continues to inspire through her example, rallying support and creating an army of like-minded individuals dedicated to positive change. Her influence grows, extending her reach to a broader community of Saturday Warriors—a group, symbolically linked to Helaman’s Army, driven by purpose and a sense of duty.
Shimmer’s connection to her Faith and Heritage is profound and integral to her Journey. She is Born of a Covenant, a Bond that has shaped her life since her Birthday in 1977 at Cottonwood Hospital in Salt Lake City. “I am K. Kirton Niner of LDS.W3Connect.com, munications of ONE, GOD THE ETERNAL FATHER,” she says. Her commitment to her Faith was solidified at age 8, when Elder John W. Kirton, Sr., by the hands of the Melchizedek Priesthood, Baptized and Confirmed her.
At approximately age 13, Shimmer faced a significant moment in her life during an incident on the Butler 10th Ward’s baseball field behind Grandma Barrett’s’s house. When she questioned whether she had to return to the situation, her Father, for the first time, told her it was her choice, not needing to consult her Mother. This moment marked a turning point in Shimmer’s Independence & Faith Journey.
Her life continues to be a reflection of her strong foundation in Faith, Covenant, and the resilience passed down through Generations. “I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen,” Shimmer affirms, as her Faith continues to guide her through the Trials & Triumphs of her Life.
Today, Shimmer stands as a symbol of resilience. Through every trial and every heartache, she has risen above, not just for herself but for her family. Her unwavering determination to protect and care for those she loves is her defining trait. Life has tried to knock her down time and time again, but Shimmer always stands tall.
Her journey is far from over, but one thing is clear: Shimmer’s story is one of unyielding strength, determination, and the unbreakable bonds of family. In a world that often tries to diminish the voices of those who fight for what’s right, Shimmer proves that some voices can never be silenced. With each step she takes, she leads by example, inspiring others to rise and fight for what is just.
