A Speech for One, K. Kirton Niner (Shimmer)
(Pause. Look at your audience with confidence.)
There comes a time… when you have to stop and listen—really listen—to the words people speak.
Everyday phrases. Casual habits. Mindless talk that strips away meaning, identity, and respect.
I’ve heard enough of it. The “you guys”… The valley girl “Oh my God”… And the careless way people throw around sacred names —as if God’s name belongs in their filler sentences.
(Pause—let that sink in.)
Let me be clear. When I speak of God, I speak of God the Eternal Father— the One who governs me.
And when I speak of Jesus Christ, I speak of my Brother. Not someone greater than me— but someone who stands with me. Because that’s what He is— my Brother in eternity, fighting alongside me for the innocence of humanity.
Humans tried to rule Him. They tried to kill Him. And when they did, God the Eternal Father intervened— because no man’s will was ever going to silence divine purpose.
(Pause for emphasis.)
I know that intervention personally. Because my Father has saved me too.
That’s why I don’t speak lightly. I don’t toss around His name. And when I hear others do it, I won’t stay silent.
I hold myself accountable. When I slip, I correct myself. Because I know exactly who I am.
I am a young lady. A daughter of my earthly father. A mother to three sons. And eternally— I am the daughter of God the Eternal Father, the sister of Jesus Christ.
(Brief pause—stand tall.)
When I stand, I stand governed by the Priesthood.
And under that divine governance, I pledge allegiance— not just in words, but in the way I live:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
(Pause—let the weight of that commitment resonate.)
I stand for liberty. I stand for justice. I stand under God— and beside my Brother.
So when I speak, I speak like I know the authority I carry— both from Heaven above and the nation I call home.
How we say things matters. Because words shape who we are, and who we remind others to be.
I am K. Kirton Niner. I stand with Christ. I stand under God the Eternal Father. And I speak with purpose.
(End with a firm nod or gesture, signaling completion.)
