“Give,” Said the Little Stream

Good morning, Creekers—and welcome back to school!

The doors are open, the buses are moving, and the newest kindergarteners have officially entered the Class of 2039. This first week is more than a return to classrooms. It is our first rally toward comprehension, responsibility, service, and leadership.

Before we lead, we listen.
Before we ask others to give, we show them how.

Following a crowd is easy. Following the Leader, Jesus Christ, requires us to think, choose, serve, and remain accountable for the effect our actions have on others.

The Youngest Minds Rule the School

Our youngest students arrive with curiosity, imagination, and innocence. They are watching the older students, teachers, parents, and every adult around them.

Protect that innocence.

Do not teach children that being bigger means being more powerful. Do not teach them that popularity excuses cruelty or that people can hurt others and simply get away with it.

Teach them that strength protects.
Teach them that leadership serves.
Teach them that actions have consequences.

A Word to the Seniors

Some seniors are already 18, and others will turn 18 during this school year. Adulthood brings freedom, but it also brings legal and personal accountability.

Hazing, bullying, humiliation, assault, unwanted touching, and intimidation are not traditions, jokes, or rites of passage. Being older does not give anyone authority over a younger student’s body, dignity, clothing, identity, or peace.

Never break another person down just to feel bigger.

Real maturity is demonstrated by self-control. Real leadership means stepping between harm and the person being harmed. Real strength means knowing when to stop, apologize, report wrongdoing, and make things right.

Rally One Challenge

This week, give something that makes your school stronger:

Give your attention before giving an answer.
Give assistance without expecting recognition.
Give younger students a safe example to follow.
Give teachers the respect required to teach.
Give yourself enough integrity to take responsibility when you are wrong.

A little stream does not serve by overpowering everything around it. It keeps moving, gives life along its path, and becomes part of something greater.

Creeker Weather Watch

Cave Creek is under an Extreme Heat Warning. Thursday’s forecast calls for a high near 104°F, with an afternoon thunderstorm capable of producing localized damaging winds. Friday and Saturday may reach approximately 108°F, with additional afternoon storm and flash-flood risks.

Carry water, schedule outdoor activity early, provide shade and rest, and never leave a child, adult, or animal inside a parked vehicle. Watch washes, road crossings, dust, lightning, and rapidly changing skies during afternoon storms. Cave Creek’s official heat guidance emphasizes taking high temperatures seriously throughout the desert heat season.

Creeker Reminder

School began Monday, August 3. This is not simply another calendar year—it is the first of forty-two opportunities to practice what we claim to believe.

Let the youngest minds remind us how to ask questions.

Let the oldest students demonstrate how to accept responsibility.

Let parents parent, teachers teach, and leaders lead by example.

Let every person entering a school understand:

You are free to choose, but you are not free from responsibility for what your choices do to another person.

Stand Tall

Listen before leading.
Serve before demanding.
Protect before overpowering.
Give before expecting to receive.
