Out here in the desert, the lessons don’t come from a classroom.
They come from the ground you walk, the air you breathe… and the lives that walk beside you.

This morning’s broadcast comes straight from the trail—
from a walk with Snow, the last of the working cats still standing.

🐾 ROLL CALL

Boots.
Thunder.
Piper.
Tabitha.
Snow.
Flake.
Seven.

Present.

Not gone.
Not forgotten.
Present in the work they left behind.

🐾 THE WORKING PAIR PRINCIPLE

People ask—why do working cats come in pairs?

Because the desert is no place to learn alone.

Pairs teach:

  • Boundaries
  • Awareness
  • Respect for space
  • Timing

Not friendship.
Function.

But here’s the truth most don’t stay long enough to see:

Pairs are just the beginning.

🪑 THE CHAIR LESSON

At some point… one is gone.

And the other one says:

“Oh… so now this is my chair.”

That moment right there—that’s the test.

Not of survival.
Of responsibility.

Does the cat:

  • Wander?
  • Wait?
  • Or step in?

Out here, the work doesn’t stop because someone’s missing.

The land still needs tending.
The watch still needs keeping.

And the one that remains…
becomes more.

🐾 SNOW — THE ONE WHO REMAINS

Snow doesn’t walk alone.

She walks with:

  • Boots’ grounding
  • Thunder’s strength
  • Piper’s awareness
  • Tabitha’s connection
  • Flake’s sacrifice
  • Seven’s protection

She carries them.

Not in memory—
in behavior.

🌵 CREEKER TRUTH

This isn’t about cats.

This is about us.

Every home.
Every family.
Every community.

At some point, there’s an empty chair.

And every one of us has to decide:

  • Ignore it
  • Wait for someone else
  • Or take responsibility for what still needs to be done

🔥 FINAL WORD

Working cats may arrive in pairs…
but purpose is revealed when one remains.

So Creekers—watch your step.
Watch your space.
And when the moment comes…

Know whose chair it is.
