A Heartfelt Thank You to Cheyenne’s Dad, Don

Today at Rancho del Oro 85331, I had the opportunity to meet a man I’ve seen many times before walking with dogs—this time, walking solo with one dog. I didn’t know his name until now, but I recognized the kindness and respect right away. Turns out, he’s Cheyenne’s Dad, Don—a friend of Kyle’s and someone who, like me, knows the old Don & Charlie’s days.

When I approached, Don was understanding and kind. He respectfully leashed his dog and listened as I shared why walking with dogs off-leash—especially on or near my property—has been a sensitive and sometimes painful issue for years. Especially since this year and the loss of Tabitha, the attack with Juno, the Coyote Dog nextdoor. And the reason Seven was up a tree resently.

Thank you, Don, for being so open and respectful. You reminded me that not everyone means harm, and sometimes it just takes a conversation. I hope this small thank-you note reminds others that courtesy, communication, and common ground can go a long way in a place we all call home.

With gratitude,
Shimmer
