🌵 Creeker Broadcast – Hello October 🌵
Week 9 | Rally 9 | School Year 2025–26
🎙️ Opening Note
Hello October, Creekers!
We’ve reached Rally 9 of this school year — nine weeks of persistence, nine weeks of learning, and nine weeks of building community even when it feels like no one’s listening. This Creekerhood is alive because we keep showing up, week after week, rally after rally.
📚 Spotlight Story – PVCC Roots
In 2011 I graduated from PVCC with a 4.0 GPA in Science & Technology (Computer Science & Technology). Jim Peterson’s Technology in Action tested me, but in Jon Storslee’s XML class I found my language. XML showed me that everything online has a structure — like digital LEGO blocks. That’s why I want even kindergartners to understand it: if they know how the internet is built, they won’t be manipulated by it, they’ll master it.
🛤️ The Road Behind Us
Before we set our eyes on the weeks ahead, we pause to honor the 9 weeks already lived:
- We laid down Heritage lessons, connecting children to ancestors and the stories that built this land and this Creekerhood.
- We carried faith and persistence, even when doors stayed closed and voices stayed silent.
- We learned together — from XML to community watch, from seminary to science — and wove technology into daily life instead of letting it rule us.
- We stood our ground as families, saying: You can remove me from your map, but not from this earth. We are here, and we are building.
These 9 weeks are already a legacy. They prove that we can rally, we can build, and we can pass our heritage to the next generation.
🗓️ Rally 9 Focus – Persistence
- Theme: Standing your ground even when ignored.
- Lesson: You can take my consulting business off Google Maps, but you can’t take it off this planet. Does This Help® lives.
- Practice: Keep creating, keep teaching, keep moving forward. Acknowledge yourself when others won’t.
🔮 Looking Ahead – The Road to Samhain
Week 9 (Oct 1–5): Persistence. Setting the tone for October.
Week 10 (Oct 6–12): Light vs. Shadow. Shorter days bring longer nights.
Week 11 (Oct 13–19): Ancestors. Honoring pioneers, grandparents, and teachers.
Week 12 (Oct 20–26): Transformation. Preparing for change as the veil thins.
Week 13 (Oct 27–31): Samhain. The turning of the year — endings and beginnings.
📝 Closing Word
Creekers, the road behind us is as important as the road ahead. We’ve carried heritage, persistence, and truth through these first 9 weeks. Now, October calls us to step into shadow and light, to prepare for Samhain, and to keep building what cannot be erased.
No map defines us. We define us.
